1949, Aerial View of LCI Area This 1949 photograph is looking north from the north-end of the Victoria Park neighbourhood, across the Warehouse District and across part of north Lethbridge. The picture starts around 5 Avenue and 17 Street South (at the bottom of the photograph). Some buildings which can help to orient the viewer are Ellison’s Milling (left side, 1/3 from the top), the original LCI (1/4 in from the left and about in the centre of the photograph). The original LCI later became Hamilton Junior High and is now the Public School Board Office. The present day LCI and St. Francis are under construction in the photograph. It’s fun to see all of the various pathways that people made prior to all of the houses and other buildings being constructed.

LCI wrestlers captured provincial gold in boys and girls team events. Amazing job to our wrestlers! Nolan Gobeil, Tamryn Bly and Payton Shields all won individual gold medals. Coach Brian Donaldson would be so proud of what he built. It’s nice to see Ram alumni like Pat Selk, Nathan Shields, Riley Ellis Toddington and Simon Ellis Toddington coaching the team and carrying the torch that Brian lit so many years ago.
